Simple Sales

Simple Sales

Last month, Domino’s Enterprises CEO Don Meij discussed his company’s latest results and plan for continued growth and dominance. The brilliance of his plan lay in its simplicity: ‘3 & 10’.

Those working for Dominos Pizza understand this to be a goal of having a pizza made within 3 minutes of receiving an order and delivered within 10.

Undoubtedly, many logistical and technical factors will need to be designed, implemented and invented to achieve this, factors that go far deeper than simply these two numbers. Yet, that is where the beauty lies.

Creating a simple plan helps maintain focus on what is important. Which in turn, increases the chances of success.

As salespeople, our workload is often overwhelming. Whilst trying to take care of the ‘big rocks’ in our businesses, we find ourselves distracted by pebbles or stones that are inevitably thrown from all directions.

In Real Estate, we have what’s called a ‘double-vision’. Mine being 8 and 50. That is, 8 salespeople listing 50 properties every month. By achieving these numbers sales are made, revenue flows and goals are realised.

An insurance salesperson may set herself a focus of 78. That is, to speak with 78 new prospects every day. A carpet salesperson might focus on 15 and 60. He must give fifteen quotes a week that are delivered within sixty minutes of meeting a prospect.
